We endorse Rob Applegate and Susan Miller

We endorse Rob Applegate for Jeffco School Board District 3

Rob was raised by a single mom who taught him a great public education was his ticket to success. Rob applied himself and eventually received an undergraduate and graduate degree in Applied Physics from Colorado School of Mines. He is the dad of two Jeffco students one in middle school and one in preschool, so Rob has many years of Jeffco public education in front of him. Rob and his wife Michelle live in the Stober neighborhood.

Rob has the board level experience and the analytical skills needed on the Jeffco School Board. He sits on a charter school board and the board of Think 360 Arts, an organization which supports Arts in Education. He has also been active with the Golden Schools Foundation and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science Development Steering Committee. He will focus on analyzing programs and investing our tax dollars in programs that improve achievement.

We endorse Susan Miller for Jeffco School Board District 4

Susan is a finance professional with the financial acumen that is needed to bring discipline to Jeffco’s spending. She and her husband have four children all with different learning styles. Between their four children they have experience with five Jeffco schools, Kyffin Elementary, Evergreen and Creighton Middle Schools, and Lakewood and Wheat Ridge High Schools.

Susan has board level experience and knows the importance of setting goals and making investments that align with the goals. She was the President of the Jefferson County Association for Gifted Children were she advocated gifted and twice exceptional students. She sat on the district’s Choice committee and sits on a Jeffco Charter School’s board. She is also a board member of History Day Colorado, on the Colorado Student Leadership Institute’s advisory board and is a member the Colorado School Finance project.
